Bio Shetland
BC Garn's Bio Shetland is a beautiful woolen-spun yarn which is dyed-in-the-wool using commercial synthetic dyes and the most eco-friendly dye practices, as certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard. Each beautiful colourway features a dynamic mix of colours, some with small flecks of contrasting colours offering the feeling of a subtle tweed. Ideal for structural knitting and weaving, this rustic, low-loft yarn is great for weft-faced tapestry woven at 12 ends-per-inch, or held double woven at 6-8 ends-per-inch.
For use in weaving with my Weave an Everlea Gradient, Colour in Tapestry or Weave a Sunset workshops choose two or more different groupings of colourways.
Gradients called, 'dynamic gradients' offer multiple hues (colours) in one five-colour gradient. As opposed one colour (ie.green) going from light green to dark green, dynamic gradients include other colours like yellow on the light end of a green gradient, for example. I find dynamic gradients especially fun to weave with, offering a more painterly effect, and they are great for collecting a variety of colours for your stash.
