Bio Shetland
BC Garn's Bio Shetland is a beautiful GOTS certified organic woolen-spun, dyed-in-the-wool yarn. Each colourway features a dynamic mix of colours, some with small flecks of contrasting colours offering the feeling of a subtle tweed. Ideal for structural knitting and weaving, this rustic, low-loft yarn is great for weft-faced tapestry woven at 12 ends-per-inch, or held double woven at 6 ends-per-inch.
For use in weaving with my Weave an Everlea Gradient, Colour in Tapestry or Weave a Sunset workshops choose two or more different groupings of colourways.
How much yarn do you need for my online workshop?
Choose two or more differing colour groups. If you plan on following only one Everlea workshop choose the 5X25g option for each colour group. For use with more than one workshop (ex. Weave an Everlea Gradient and Colour in Tapestry) choose the 5X50g for each colour grouping.
How to choose which groupings:
For the best colourwork results, choose two or more groups which are very different from each other - from there, there are no bad choices. There are four main hues: Blues, purples, greens, and reds. Choose from different hues to get the most variety and colour success (ie green+red, red+blue, red+purple, green+purple etc). Avoid getting two from the same hue. Follow your gut when it comes to preference, but don't be afraid to try something different.
